August 5, 2014

HATTIESBURG, Ms. - SciGenesis, LLC, an advance materials company creating and combining technologies to impart multi-functional properties to textiles and cosmetics, received a contract from Natick Soldier Center to develop extended release microcapsules that are capable of providing an enhancement in soldier spacial protection from arthropds.

"This is a natural extension of the research conducted to encapsulate DEET for our thermally protective facepaint and permethrin for textiles.  A product that can be sprayed to provide long-lasting targeted vector protection will allow soldiers to protect themselves when and where necessary,"  said Kelli Booth, president and co-founder of SciGenesis.  "We are honored that Natick sees the value in translating our existing technology and capabilities to develop another product to address soldier needs."
